Fire Department
The City of Littlefork Fire Department's mission is to protect and enhance the quality of life for all citizens and visitors from the adverse effects of natural and man-made emergencies. LFFD averages 18.6 runs per year. Seventy-five percent of the fire runs are in the surrounding rural area, twenty-five percent are in the city. 4,129 parcels are protected by the service which covers 433 square miles including twelve unorganized townships and the City of Littlefork. The service is funded by a taxing district which encompasses these parcels. Coverage is provided outside the taxing district when needed through Mutual Aid agreements with surrounding departments including International Falls, big Falls, Loman, Kagetogama, and the MN DNR. Littlefork Fire Department firefighters are unpaid for fire calls. They are true volunteers who serve fearlessly and faithfully.
